I've seen a lot of pictures of My Chemical Romance shoes. Every time I saw them, I would think, "Damnit! I want those!"
So I finally got off my lazy bum to make them.
And they turned out better than I thought.
I used red, black and white fabric paint, fabric paintbrushes, fixative and white shoes.
I was going to use vans, but I realized I really did not want to risk buying $30 - $40 shoes only to mess up. ._.
So I used generic vans. Ha-ha. It was much cheaper.
These photos were taken when I first made them.
The shoes are a little worn out, but the paint and everything is fine. It didn't wash off.
Of course, the shoes would be in better shape if I hadn't gotten carried away and worn them the very first day I made them... I decided to walk around in mud that day. The results were not great. I had to fix them up, and even now, they're still not the same.
I think its a sign to buy real vans and paint them.
I also wore these shoes to an MCR concert. It would've been great to have the band sign them, but I wasn't from the area where the concert was, so I had to leave early. I could barely stay for the encore. *sigh*
It took me about three hours to make them.
If you plan on making something like this, here's my advice:
DO WHAT THE DIRECTIONS TELL YOU AND WAIT 72 HOURS BEFORE GOING OUTSIDE IN THEM. AND IF YOU DO WEAR THEM BEFORE 72 HOURS, DO NOT WEAR THEM IN MUD.
Process:
- Stuff shoes with tissue paper for support - Sketch the drawing onto the shoes with a pencil - Go over lines with black paint - Color in with paint - Add special effects (dots of blood) - Spray fixative - Let them sit for 72 hours before wearing
It really is easy. Even if you're not an artist, then just trace the drawing and put them on. Its a lot better than sitting around and being jealous of the other people with MCR shoes. Trust me.
Overall, I like my shoes. I don't think the girl turned out that well, though. The words are also unreadable...
Which reminds me, the words say: a story of a man. a woman. and the corpses of a thousand evil men.
Like what it says on the back of the booklet.
Now I just have to make Gerard's skeleton pajamas and my life will be complete...

First off, everyone here at deviantART would like to say THANK YOU!!! We have received an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm for the launch of version 6 and believe that this has been our best-received launch to date.
You might even be one hell of a profesional, but if you don't SHOW it and PROVE it, how will everyone know? These facts are important not only when you are looking for a job, but in any situation when you wish to showcase your work. I decided to share a few guidelines that might help you give the best of yourself and help you be a better profesional.

Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
